Ordering and Payment
How To Order
- Online Ordering: Complete the easy-to-use order form and send it securely on-line.
- Off-line Ordering: Complete the easy-to-use order form and print it. Instructions where to mail or to send the form will be on the bottom of the form.

Online Ordering
Once you have found an item that interests you, simply choose the
quantity and choose the recipient from the "send to" drop
down. Continue by clicking the "Add to Cart" button.
You can resume shopping by clicking on another item or category.
When you are ready to conclude your purchase, click on the "check
out" button in the shopping cart. Please note that you can change the contents of your
cart any time during the order process.
When you have finished adding items to your Shopping Cart, click the "Checkout" button (you will still be able to change your order). Complete all fields on the check out page and press the "Continue"
button. You will receive an e-mail confirmation with your order number shortly thereafter.
We will send a second e-mail confirming the shipment of your order.
Off-line Ordering
If you would rather fax or mail your order instead of sending it online,
please print and fill out the order form. Instructions on where to fax or mail the order will be on the bottom of the form.
Fast Re-order
If you are a registered customer of SpecialTeas, you can quickly and easily re-order any products you have purchased within the past 12 months. Just click on the "Your Account" button on the top of each page and follow the link to "Order History and Re-order quickly ". On this page you can select any of the items you have purchased before.
Pricing
Despite our best efforts to always show the correct and up-to-date pricing, on very rare occasions an item might be mis-priced.
- If the correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount. (If you have paid by check we will contact you to arrange a refund.)
- If the correct price is higher than our stated price, we contact you before charging your credit card and ask for your permission.
Availability
In the rare instances that an item becomes unavailable before we the web site is updated, we will inform you by email.
Please note that we do not charge your credit card until we ship the order.
Payment Options
- Paying by Credit Card
We currently accept VISA, MasterCard/Euro Card, Discover and American Express. During checkout you will have the option to send us the credit card information via our secured connection or to print the order and fax or mail it. (Details can be found on the checkout page). You may also place a credit card order by phone. (see also: Safe Shopping Guarantee)
- Paying by Check or Postal Money Order
We accept checks denominated in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank or money orders denominated in U.S. dollars. To pay by check or money order,
please print and fill out the order form. Instructions on where to fax or mail the order will be on the bottom of the form.
Please note that paying by check does slow down your orders by a few days, as we typically do not ship until checks are cleared. If you place your order by phone we will give you the check total and hold the order until payment is received and cleared.
- Payment by Gift Certificate
Gift Certificates are available in $10, $25, $50 and $100 denomination. The Certificates will be sent along with a catalog and are redeemable by calling our toll-free order line at 1-888-365-6983 or (203) 866-1522. (Sorry not accepted for Internet purchases).

Sales Tax
Six percent sales tax is charged only on non-tea items sent within the state of Connecticut. Connecticut State laws require that we charge a sales tax on the full amount of non-tea items including their charges for shipping and handling.
Unfortunately the tax for Connecticut non-tea orders will not be shown in the shopping cart but will appear on the invoice.
How to place Gift Orders
When placing a gift order, please proceed through the regular order process by adding items to the cart and going to checkout.
On the checkout screen you will find the option to mark your order as gift, enter a shipping address and add a personalized gift note. There currently is no extra charge for gift orders.
Please enter a separate order for each gift recipient as we can not process multiple shipping addresses for one order.
